Hi, my name is Aaron Greenberg and I lead the Xbox games marketing team at Microsoft. A few years ago I learned about Gamers Outreach when I met their founder Zach Wigal through mutual Xbox Live gaming friends. I was so incredibly touched by what they are doing by bringing these gaming Go Karts to kids in Children's Hospitals around the country. This year I visited my local Seattle Children's Hospital to see how the one Go Kart they had was being used and better understand the needs of the hospital. They shared that given they only have one Go Kart (with an Xbox 360 on it), it is 100% of the time in their ICU with the most sick kids in need. However they have 10 departments and each of them have a need for these Go Karts. Many of the kids in the hospital cannot leave their beds to go play in a common room. These Go Karts are designed so that they roll right up to the beds and the kids can play then, even tilt the screen so they can play while laying down. We learned that many times when they are having procedures done the kids want to play games to take their minds off of it. Also these kids cannot go outside and play with their friends while in the hospital so gaming serves as a key way for them to bring joy, laughter and fun to their lives, at a time when they need it more than ever. I have personally donated to bring two new Xbox One Go Karts to Seattle Children's Hospital. Please consider taking time to make whatever size donation you feel you can to help bring more Go Karts to this hospital which typically has hundreds of kids receiving care. I will also be offering some donate to win giveaways with Xbox SWAG we have made as a team to help support this cause.
